TEMPOROMANDIBULAR JOINT (TMJ) DISORDERS AND SURGICAL CORRECTION

The temporomandibular articulation is composed of bilateral, hinging and sliding temporomandibular joints (TMjs). TM) disorders (TMD) are a class of degenerative musculoskeletal conditions associated with structural and functional deformities which include abnormalities of the intra-articular distal position and/or structure as well as dysfunction of the associated musculature.

CLEFT LIP AND CLEFT PALATE CLEFT LIP

It is a congenital defect which occurs when the lip elements fail to come together during fetal development, thus creating an opening in the upper lip between the mouth and nose. It may be complete or incomplete. CLEFT PALATE: It is a birth defect which causes opening or split in the roof of the mouth when facial structures that are developing in an unborn baby don't close completely. It involves the hard palate (the bony front portion of the roof of the mouth) and the soft palate (the soft back portion of the roof of the mouth).
